I saw this Hindi movie with English subtitles, which I thought was interesting..........................

  The story synopsis: -

  • Mr. D and Mrs. D, together with their child, Titli (meaning Butterfly), checked into a resort unit in Mauritius.

  • Titli had fallen ill before the check-in and her cries had been heard by at least one occupant living directly below the family.  The receptionist remembered that the family had checked in with a child in the arms of Mrs. D.

  • The next morning, Mrs. D, found that that Titli was missing and a mad hunt started in the resort.

  • Mrs. D wanted to file a police report but Mr. D was adamant that the child cannot disappear at will and must be somewhere in the resort.  A police report is not needed.

  • As Mr. D and Mrs. D exchanged conversation on Titli, Mr. D said that he has never seen the face of Titli  ….  And as they were arguing on the police filing, the following flashback ensued: -

a. Mr. D checked-in into a cruise from the Reunion Island, travelling to Mauritius for a business presentation.

b. Mr. D had a brief encounter with “Mrs. D” and it was at this juncture that the movie reveals that Mrs. D is not the wife of Mr. D but a certain Ms. A.

c. Mr. D’s 2nd encounter with Ms. A was at the sick bay where she is tendering to Titli.

  • The conversation between Mr. D and Ms. A: -

a. “Ms. A” fled from her husband for whom she refused to divorce; &

b. While on the “run”, Ms. A, realized that she was being followed and suspected that her husband had sent people after her.

  • Mr. D, being wild at heart, saw the chance and invited Ms. A to stay with him in Mauritius at the resort that he had booked.

  • The scene went back to present… …The resort was in a little chaos, as the search party went on.  It was at this time, Mr. D realized that Ms. A had called the Police for assistance, much to his dismay.

  • Mr. D’s reluctance could be explained as follows: -

a. He reported Ms. A as his wife, Mrs. D, during the check-in.

b. He did not insert Titli as one of the occupants.

c. He did not want to explain to the policemen on his rendezvous (for fear it goes back to his wife).

d. He had to rush for a presentation, which he is afraid that the police investigations might delay his schedule.

  • When the police arrived, Mr. D lied about his relationship with Ms. A and continue perpetrating his lies until the Inspector spotted the inconsistencies.

  • Unable to continue his lies, Mr. D had no choice but to explain the truth to the Inspector who had chosen not to trust him. Instead, the Inspector corroborated Mr. D’s statements with Ms. A who claimed that Mr. D is her lawful husband and Titli is their child. Mr. D was left flabbergasted.

  • Mr. D told Ms. A that they should run away and explained that he was “the one” sent by her husband and had kidnapped Titli.  Unless she cooperate, he will ensure Titli’s disappearance.

  • While on the run, the police received some information and the truth was unveiled. The Inspector was shocked at the revelation (and the turn of events)… …

  • By the time, the police found Mr. D, he was motionless; stabbed from behind.  Ms. A was nowhere to be found.
